To clients in these sectors, the firm offers a comprehensive range of legal services spread across 8 practice teams. With over 180 Partners and staff, we operate from offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth.
Our experienced Energy & Strategic Land team has an excellent track record in project managing a range of legal and other professional skills required to deliver large energy, infrastructure and strategic land projects across Great Britain. We co-ordinate our colleagues and external inputs on planning, construction, environment, regulatory issues, rural and crofting tenure, corporate M&A support, banking and finance, and various sector driven commercial and trading contracts relating to such developments. The team deals with development and acquisition of energy projects onshore, islands and offshore ranging from small scale to over 4GW capacity and with promotion and development of strategic mixed-use developments ranging from small niche residential developments through to 5000-unit new town developments.
The core Energy team currently has an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor to join Gillespie Macandrew. The successful candidate will carry out commercial property and related work on transactions and projects in an efficient, responsive and accurate manner to further develop the firm’s energy and strategic land practice, whilst meeting the expectations of the client at all times.
Candidates will possess a desire to actively contribute to the development of our successful and forward-thinking team. They will be confident in working independently and running their own caseload, but also be willing and able to work with other members of the team on larger or more complex cases. They will contribute to the financial success of the team and the firm by meeting agreed targets and contributing to business development and marketing strategies.
The role will be suitable for a solicitor with a minimum of 1year’s relevant commercial, rural or energy property experience, and in the range of 1-3 years’ PQE but all applications will be considered.
