Giving you the confidence to make your next move safely

As the Government restrictions are gradually lifted, here at Gillespie Macandrew we are acutely aware of the potential long term effect that COVID-19 could have on the residential property market. It’s positive to see though that activity levels are already starting to increase and it is clear that people are still be hoping to move house. As we move in to phase two of lockdown, many are understandably concerned about the processes involved in buying and selling property and how it can be done without putting themselves or others at risk. We're looking forward to the restrictions on housing moves being lifted on the 29th of June, but in the meantime wanted to share our plans with you.

We are focusing heavily on how best to ensure the safety of our clients and staff by complying with the government guidelines. We have looked at every aspect of a sale and purchase transaction and set about creating new protocols designed to give you the confidence to make your next move safely.

Selling a property

We will not allow viewers to visit your property until we have satisfied ourselves that they do not pose any threat to the health of you or other members of your household and that they fully understand and have agreed to comply with basic safety guidelines.

Outside Agencies
Where we are required to instruct other businesses to carry out different aspects of your sale transaction e.g. surveyors, photographers or viewing agents then unless we are satisfied that they are strictly observing government safety recommendations we will NOT instruct them. We have asked each of them for evidence of their compliance guidelines.

Our Staff
We are training our own staff in all aspects of safe-working and compliance, social distancing within the workplace and correct and appropriate use of PPE.

We are happy to supply you with copies of our new protocols on request.

IT Developments
We will be using the latest technology to conduct as much of our business with you as we can remotely. New improved property video tours should allow potential buyers to get a much better feel for your property from the comfort of their own home and hopefully reduce the number of casual viewers.

Buying a new property

For anyone looking to view properties for sale, we can assure you that we will have been through full safety measures with the sellers to give you the peace of mind that the property is as safe as possible for you to view.

So what now?

In short, your safety and the safety of our staff are at the forefront of our minds. Moving house is such an important step for us all. We are determined that it should still be an exciting and rewarding process for our clients, while at the same time being a safe and healthy one.

We are available to discuss all of the above with you and will happily provide you with more detailed advice and instructions on request.
