Plan for Jobs: Job Retention Bonus
As part of the government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ announced on 8th July, the government has pledged to pay employers a one-off payment of £1,000 for each employee that they made a claim for under the CJRS and who remains in employment from 1st November 2020 to 31st January 2021. The payments will be paid in February 2021, subject to the following criteria being met:
- The employee was eligible to be furloughed and was furloughed under the CJRS.
- The employee has been continuously employed from 1st November 2020 to 31st January 2021. This does not include employees serving a statutory or contractual notice period that started before 1st February 2021.
- The employee has earned an average of £520 per month (a total of £1,520 over the three month period) between 1st November 2020 and 31st January 2021, with earnings for each month having been processed through payroll.
Further guidance is expected to be published in September 2020 which will provide further details on the above criteria.Back to news list
