Ashley McCann
Associate, Dispute Resolution
Ashley is an Associate in the firm’s dispute resolution team who specialises in public, planning and environmental law matters.
Her planning and environmental work covers planning applications, appeals and inquiries, environmental impact assessments and compulsory purchase orders. She has a particular interest in housebuilder, rural estate, energy and strategic land projects.
In the public law sphere Ashley has special expertise in Scottish parliamentary processes and advises clients on the legality and interpretation of legislation which has included appearing before the Scottish Parliament to give evidence on legislative proposals. Having gained 8 years’ experience as a litigator, Ashley has a particular interest in challenging decisions by regulators and public bodies by way of statutory appeal and judicial review.
Ashley is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Constitutional and Human Rights Sub-Committee, the Scottish Public Law Group and co-chairs Young Mediators, an organisation that promotes education about and engagement with mediation across the UK and beyond. She is also a Notary Public.
Ashley is also a Director and Trustee of Home-Start Glasgow South, a charity supporting families across the South of Glasgow.
