Fiona is a senior solicitor in our Energy and Strategic Land team and is involved in a variety of property work including large-scale energy projects, strategic land matters, and assisting energy companies with their network infrastructure, substations and connections arrangements in Scotland.

Sector experience includes:

  • 6 month part-time secondment to a client’s in-house legal team to assist in delivering Scotland-wide network transmission projects;
  • Acting for developers acquiring rights for ground mounted solar farms and battery storage projects along with rights for grid connection routes;
  • Providing pre-planning title due diligence for developers’ future battery storage projects;
  • Assisting in the sale of land for over 200 dwellings at Newcraighall, Edinburgh
  • Acting for strategic landowners in negotiating Option Agreements and Leases for solar farm and battery storage projects across Scotland;
  • Advising developers in acquiring oversail pinch point rights for an onshore wind farm;
  • Acting for network operator in the acquisition of land rights for substation connections required for housing developments, distilleries, schools, EV chargers and other development sites across Scotland;
  • Acting for network operator in the land agreements for a key network infrastructure site at Peterhead.
