Douglas is a corporate lawyer, qualified in Scotland, England and Wales, with over 25 years’ experience of advising companies of various sizes. He advises on a wide range of matters including M&A, shareholders’ agreements, share options, corporate restructuring, equity investments and shareholder disputes.

Douglas is recognised as one of the UK’s leading advisers on employee ownership, having acted on sales to an employee ownership trust in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  He has worked on more than 85 sales to an employee ownership trust (EOT).  Douglas has also advised on sales by an EOT, equity and debt funding for EOTs, restructuring, updating constitutional documents, governance, disputes, share options being granted by EO-companies and bonus payments to employees.  He has spoken at the Employee Ownership Association (eoa) Conference and various webinars, together with publishing expert articles.

Douglas is also a specialist in sport law, having successfully acted on one of the highest profile Scottish sports law disputes this century.
